Hi,

I just finished doing the whitening solution (Opalescence PF 35%) with my custom trays my dentist gave me but I have bright white spots on some of my teeth. What caused this, will they go away? Should I keep whitening?

Is this healthy? Is it something I should contact my dentist's office about?

The teeth are probably just dehydrated and the white spots will disappear within 48 hours as they rehyrdate.

Lay off the whitening until it settles and maybe use the gel for less time on each application in the future.

If the spots don't disappear by the end of this weekend- call your dentist for advice.

In the meantime it may be an idea to use a high fluoride toothpaste- ask your pharmacist/drug store for the strongest one they have and use it for a few days.

best wishes
Dr Mike
