Best painkiller for toothache

I have bad toothache in one tooth in the upper set but when this starts it sets off other teeth even on the bottom set. Can anyone recommend any decent painkiller tablets i could take.
p.s. i have made appoitment with my dentist for 3rd december so i have to put up with it until then.
 
Generally the best painkilers for dental pain are the anti-inflammatory NSAIDs like ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, etc) as long as you do not have any contraindications to them. Try that and see how it goes or visit your dentist to have the tooth looked at, and he/she can likely give you something for it until you can get in.
