Hello everyone I am having second thoughts on having my oral surgeon place implant posts and instead have my periodontist do them . My periodontists also places implants but I was thinking since my oral surgeon specializes in the mouth and face it would be safer. He pulled an abcessed molar this week which leads me to the reason I am having second thoughts on him for my future implant coming up in a week. The reason I am having second thoughts is because this weeknd I was in alot of pain and also had alot of discomfort with the antibiotic that he prescribed and I have had a hard time reaching him to call me back and the when I finally got a call back he was rude and not too concerned with my needs and didnt make the effort I need. I am trying hard not to panic due to phobia of dentists tobegin with the thoght of more pain really scares me. Can you tell me your opinion on who would be better an oral surgeon or a periodontist that also does implants? Second Question: If I end up needing dentures later can these implant posts that I will have in already be used to hold down dentures?
