Dear dental phobics,
My name is B.D., a second year student Human Technology
of de Haagse Hogeschool in the Netherlands. For the subject Project Vision (PVI) we have to
examine the oral healthcare of American people.
To specify our subject group, we decided to examine the oral healthcare of people who are scared
or are having fear of the dentist.
Given that my project group doesn’t exist of any Americans and doesn’t know (a lot) Americans who are afraid of the dentist, we would like to know if it’s possible to get in contact with people who are.
How the research will look like is still unclear, however what we do know is that the research will be anonymous. We also know that part of the research will be done at home or online (online probing) and some of it will be done at our school using a method called context-mapping.
Currently we are exploring the ways of acquiring participants for any parts of our research.
Maybe you can help us acquiring these participants by replying to this post. Perhaps you can also ask colleagues, friends, relatives, friends of colleagues, friends of friends etc. Any additional information is also welcome of course! The anonymous results will be used to think and build better ways of experiencing the dentist and oral healthcare for american people with dental fear.
Yours sincerely,
B.D.
