      Default Panicking

There's just an hour to go until I'm in the chair getting prepped to have a couple of baby teeth pulled. This has worried me sick all week and it's been like a rain cloud over my head all week. I hope somebody catches this before I leave to hell. Hopefully when I get back I'll have something nice to say but I'm in doubt...

While you are there, squeeze your right hand real tight. That will be ME holding your hand. (((HUGS)))
It's going to be okay! Those baby teeth aren't in there very good. They'll pop right out. That's what my daughter told me when she had her baby teeth out for braces.

Good luck franklinm! Soon you'll be back at home and wondering what all the worrying was about. I had a big adult molar removed last week, and I was worried sick about it. It ended up taking all of about 10 minutes to extract, and there was no pulling or pain involved-- I honestly never felt the tooth come out. One second they were "prepping" the tooth and the next they were sitting me up and giving me after care instructions. I actually had to ask them, "Did you pull it already?"

In the meantime, lots of us here on the forum will be "root"ing for you you. (A little tooth humor, hehe). Good luck!

Doesn't look like I got back in time hunni, so I hope it went well for you, and that your panicking was needless.

Oh my! I seem to have missed quite a lot of excitement...hope everything went well franklin! I thought your next appointment was for a cleaning in July? I must have missed something. Your office was very receptive and kind when they replied to your letter regarding your fears so I have a feeling everything turned out ok. Please let us know how it went! Hoping all is well now that it's over!

Well I've been kinda reluctant to reply but I guess you guys deserve an answer. The appointment went all right, it could have gone worse it could have gone better. The assistant was very nice and reassuring and the dentist was alright. The extraction was kinda borderline pain and the injections were painful. As of now my mouth is basically 100%. The dentist did get my note and acknowledged that I was nervous but it was kinda obvious he wasn't experienced in treating nervous patients. I did have laughing gas though for the procedure, but it didn't really do anything for me, I think I was too nervous. I started feeling fuzzy and then I kind of jolted out of it and the dentist asked are you feeling something and I said yes because at the time I was feeling under the influence laughing gas and they never turned it up.(Last time I had teeth pulled I had laughing has and they had to turn it up to have effect. I snapped out of it when the dentist grabbed the needle and gave me the injection and I never went back "under".) But one really good thing did come out of this conumdrum, my old hygienist retired. Now I get a new one and hopefully she'll be much better than the old one.

Yes kitkat, I still have an appointment for a cleaning in July. But it was on my brother's birthday and we went out to eat. While we were eating my mom said I think I'm going to take you to the dentist which immediately sent panic waves through me. She eventually scheduled an appointment for the following week. But my mom didn't take me but my dad did which was ok and he let me go back by myself.

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply. I had to go to camp the week after the extraction.(The extraction was on Friday and I left for camp on Monday.) When I got back we've had our friends from Grand Rapids so I've been busy.

Yeah I'm completely healed but right now I feel absolutely rotten. My dad kinda accidentally found out about my fear and I didn't tell him anything and he just knows about it, no details whatsoever. This really sucks. I still have that appointment in July and that's also freaking me out because it decides if I'll have to get braces. I'll probably have to get braces, and that probably means is the rest of my baby teeth gotta go. I can't stop worrying and fretting, I feel sick.
