Hoping some people can share their experiences to help me decide 're my sedation options.
Goes without saying that I am acutely phobic and lack if dental care means full mouth extractions (26) and no immediate for 10 days.
Just the thought of this is making me feel I'll and I'm pretty sure the only way to go is iv sedation and hopefully no memory.

However my dentist is recommending oral sedation only and I have a niggling worry - will drifting off with full set of teeth and then "coming round " with nothing be more traumatic than actually being aware?

I know I'm over thinking but some first hand feedback would help me.

Thanks

Oral sedation might work but it is NOT predictable. I assume your dentist doesn't offer IV sedation.

When I had wisdom teeth removed, my dentist didn't offer IV sedation but did prescribe xanax. Not sure if you had xanax before, but it kind of feels like being drunk. Somewhat euphoric, but without the spins, nausea, or bloating. It did help my anxiety during the procedure, so maybe consider that if your dentist doesn't offer IV sedation.

You're still awake if you get IV sedation, though. The only thing that can prevent any memory of a procedure is general anesthesia, which requires an actual anesthesiologist to be present and equipment that's only available in hospitals and specialist clinics.
