Five years ago wizzy fractured and half of the tooth fell off leading to lots of attempts to fill it. The last filling came out nine days ago and I agreed with my dentist that wizzy should be extracted.

Panic stations yesterday as I have anxiety but wizzy thankfully had very neat compact roots and even though it fell apart it was out in 40 minutes with no sedation. The only problem was that I don't numb properly so the extra anaesthetic injections left me numb until around 4am which was probably a blessing.

The actual extraction wasn't that bad. I could feel wriggling and pressure but not many scary noises. I took paracetamol at home and used solpadeine overnight which has codeine in it. I also applied an ice pack for 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off until bed time.

I haven't had any sleep but also haven't taken any pain relief since 3am and to be honest although it hurts the pain is starting to subside. I have minimal swelling at the moment but I know that may occur over the next few days.

After all the horror stories I read I thought I would share my own experiences which actually wasn't that bad.
