Question Blood spots on gum after injection

It me again, Miss Worry to much. LOL

So today I went in for other half of the deep cleaning. Again it only took her about 1/2 total for deep cleaning my upper and lower left side of my mouth. But, since it varys from person to person. I am not worried anymore.

**Btw, she actually extracted one of my bottom decayed roots. That, I am very happy about. Mid January will be the day, all the decayed roots will be taken out and crown impressions to be made for the other RCT tooth.

      Now the questions?

Why is there like a burnt spot, it look black on my gums. It not all over the place, just 4 spots. But it is visible(sort of, if I pull my lips). Will this go away? Should I be concerned? Is this common?

Ps. Thank you zzz, scaredstiff, and letsconnect for the replies on my previous thread. Hoping you guys/gals can help me again this time.

Glad to hear it went well for you today. I'm no expert at anything dental (in fact come to think of it I'm no expert on anything) but could the black spots be slight bruising or even blood I mean the mouth is a sensitive area. I seem to remember this has been mentioned by others in the past and I am sure its nothing to be concerned about, but I suppose one of our illustrious dentists or someone more knowledgeable than I will be able to set your mind at rest over this.

Although I think "illustrious dentist" probably refers more to Dr. Laurie or one of the other dentists as I probably fall more into the "lusty dentist" category, I'll take a guess at this. It's more than likely just some tissue tags or coagulated blood tags that are hanging around the gum areas. With deeper cleanings, the gums can get a bit of a work out with the cleaning as well as some currettage (removal of boggy, unhealthy tissue).

The result can leave small dark black or crimson areas of tissue/blood that hangs around the gumline for a little while. They usually disappear with time.

Last night the spots was still there, so I massaged the area.

Woke up this morning the area seemed to be spreading, but the other 2 spots have disappeared.

So, that means the other two will eventually vanish.

      Thank you once again.
