:hidesbehindsofa:Hello Everyone. After neglecting my teeth for several years during my drug addiction, I am starting the process for deep cleaning today. I am really scared, however my dentist said I can have nitrous to help. Does anyone know more about this process, and what kind of pain I will experience with deep cleaning?

Thanks,
CoCo

Everyone experiences deep cleaning differently. Some people hardly flinch during quite vigorous cleaning, and others find even gentle cleaning uncomfortable.
The Nitrous Oxide will help alot.
If you find it uncomfortable- ask the dentist to 'numb' the gums where s/he is cleaning.
Remember that it is likely that there will be a little bit of bleeding during and after the procedure.
Hope it goes well.
Regards
Dr Mike
