Hi there im new to this and i need some help!!

ok, so as you may have already guessed im a total phobic when it comes to the dentist. Have a real big problem tho, i need a filling and my dentist put me a temp filling in and then said he would refer me for sedation at a private clinic. Anyway i went back yesterday because the temp filling is still real sensitive, and he saidd that the clinic no longer offers sedation so they could find me a private clinic, but i will have to pay myself, or i can brave it there. The thing is my doc prescribed me 5mg of valium/diazapam but it didn't touch me. My dentist is fantastic, but im scared of the neeedle also, he did say he would put some numbing stuff on before he injects me but will i still feel it...please help me guys :cry:

I live in the US so I am not familiar with how things are done in the UK but I know that here Valium is commonly used by dentitsts for sedation. It seems to me that if your doctor gave you 5mg, perhaps they could give you more. I am wondering if a higher dosage would be helpful to you.
