Default How many roots does a second premolar have?

      Hi all

I've got to have a root canal on one of my second premolars (bottom row on the right) - I am wondering, in general, how many roots can I expect to be filled? I forgot to ask the dentist when she took an x-ray, and I'm just curious really!

      Thanks in advance!

Most commonly, a lower second premolar has one canal. However, there can be anatomical variations - for example, the canal can split into two half-way down the root, or there may be 2, 3, or even 4 canals. But the usual is one canal (according to Google, anyways).
