Hi, JLT. I hated the drill too!! I also hated the shot of Novacaine. I mean even though they would try to hide the needle from you, but you could still see it coming. I was expecting it (both the drill and the shot) but no and it was great!!!!
Phase 1 of my treatment isn't quite over yet ( I thought it was, but )!
And, I have to go back to the dental office on Monday . But, I am getting less and less afraid, so that's a GOOD thing!

Wow Jen...I love the way they took care of your cavities! I sure wish they would have that procedure at my dentist office. I do have to say though a 5 hour sit in the chair for your splint thing sounds so LOOOOOOOOONG!!!!

GLad you got things taken care of though!!

It seems I AM done with phase one. They took impressions on Monday and I went back on Wednesday for the analysis. I guess my bite is corrected enough. I am going to get caps for my upper front teeth on Dec. 2nd. So I am very happy that we are moving ahead.
They warned me that I will probably be in the office all day, as it takes a while to do.
I'm, of course, a little apprehensive about this procedure, but I'm not petrified, thanks to all the positive dental experiences I've had so far!

I was scheduled for a dental appointment on Wednesday Nov. 25th to get my temporary veneers, but I had to cancel it. Thursday, of course, here in the states is Thanksgiving. I am having my family over for Thanksgiving dinner, my brother is coming from Minnesota. I didn't want to have ANY discomfort or trouble with those temporaries during the holiday.
In fact, I probably won't want to do it in December on account of my being SO busy at work due to Christmas. So we'll have to see what happens!!
Thanks for listening,
,
Jen

Hi Jen,
I agree with you! I wouldn't want any discomfort on Thanksgiving when its the best day in the world to eat

My veneer appointment is still set for Dec. 2nd. My dental office will call me and try to squeeze me in for Dec 1st for the consult visit and temporaries. If they can't, then they will change my veneer appointment to another date. I will know by Wednesday.
I guess I don't mind getting the veneers 3 weeks before Christmas, although I would have liked to wait after the holidays altogether.
I am only getting the upper front done on Dec. 2nd. Then I will have the lower front done.
I am a little anxious, as (stupid, I know) I have watched veneers procedure on YouTube.
I have also read that the procedure for the veneers makes your teeth sensitive to hot, cold and wind at least temporarily so not TOO happy about that. But apparently I need them because I have grinded my teeth down to almost nothing. So it's really NOT a cosmetic procedure for me.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent!!
Hugs to all,
Jen

There were problems with the labs that came back so the appointment on Dec.2 was cancelled. My dentist's office called yesterday. They wanted me to come in on Dec.21st for my consult and then on the 23rd to get my caps done. I said, hold your horses!! I told them I was way TOO busy and that we would have to postpone this until January.
There was NO WAY I was going to have a major dental procedure done RIGHT before Christmas!!! What if I have problems? Where would the doctor be?
So, anyway, the consult is set for January 6th, and I guess we will schedule the procedure from there.
That date I feel better about, and whenever they schedule the actual procedure for the caps, at least it wont be around a major holiday!!
Thanks for listening,
Hugs to all,
Jen
