One of the main things that attracted me to ICDsoft (apart from their excellent uptime and glowing reviews and recommendations elsewhere on the web) was their brilliant customer support - ideal for inexperienced users and experts alike. Their support ticket service is second to none (a few friends to whom I recommended ICDsoft were sceptical at first, but had to admit they are brilliant...).
Support tickets get answered within a matter of minutes most of the time (the longest I've ever had to wait was 20 minutes), runs 24/7, and they go out of their way to fix any problems you may encounter (problems not caused by them, I should add). They even go as far as fixing your problems themselves, rather than sending you instructions, if you let them know that you don't have a clue how it works!
The rates are very reasonable ($6 a month for a personal account with 1000 MB disk storage/20GB data transfer) and $10 a month for a business account (2000 MB disk storage/40GB data transfer). What's even better, their servers are extremely fast, which can be a problem with other webhosting companies.
The servers are UNIX-based (Linux I think) (don't ask me what that means - I only know that they're much better than Windows-based ones).
They come with all the stuff you might need - MySQL databases, PERL, PHP5, PHP4, Python, Ruby on Rails and TCL, antivirus software, unlimited number of e-mail accounts, personal cgi-bin, domain parking, etc. etc...
