Embarassed looking for friendly nhs dentist in portsmouth uk

I need to find a NHS Dentist as I haven't been for many years am now very anxious , scared and embarassed at the state of my used to be teeth...

If there isn't a dentist on this forum near you, if you go on the nhs choices website and enter your postcode it will bring a list of dentists up in your area. I am presuming you are in the UK with you asking about an nhs dentist.

The article mentions NHS dentists who have a special interest in helping phobic patients. Maybe the person who seems to have coordinated the research (Lee Loveless) would be able to e-mail you with the details of these dentists (that's presuming he's still at the same e-mail address - I think it is). You can find his e-mail address in the linked article.

Not sure if this is a shot in the dark but might be worth a try
