      Default building up of tooth

I had a root canal a few years ago and I lost the crown which needs to be replaced, the
dentist said she needs to do a build up of the tooth first , what does this mean and should I require anesthesia for this????

A build up is just some plastic bonded into the tooth to provide a more "ideal" shape for the crown to fit onto. You probably don't need local for it, since there's no nerve supply to the tooth any more.
