4-5 years ago the dentist told me that the adult canine grew behind my baby one but grew side ways :(. Is it still possible for that tooth to grow in place? The one on the right had the same problem. But he pulled it out and the permanent canine grew in perfectly.

There no pain to the gums and nothing wrong with the teeth.

You may need some orthodontics to get the other canine in place.

What is the process of this? And how long does it usually take?

It requires exposing the tooth, attaching a bracket, and pulling it into position. The time it takes can vary depending on the orientation of the tooth.
