Hi all,
Joined the forum today and a great relief to know i'm not alone! Haven't been to the drill demons since 1991, had a dreadful experience (and i mean REALLY BAD) and the dentist himself was a rude and utter *******.
Anyway to cut a long story short it's getting to the stage where i have to bite (wish i could!) the bullet and get the few teeth, i've got left sorted, in reality i reckon i'll need dentures.

I'm currently out of work and trying to set up in business as a photographer (been takings pics since i was 8!) so can any of you guys help? I'm looking for a decent/sympathetic NHS dentist in the Cardiff area who can sort me out.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you! :)

Hi :welcome:,

it's great to hear that you've worked up the courage to put the demons to rest :). A lot has changed over the last 20 years, and you may be pleasantly surprised by the changes!!

Having said that, it is still true that there are still some crap dentists out there, but also lots of good and caring ones who are good with people who are scared of dentists. Finding a good dentist who provides NHS treatment to people with dental fears, to high standards, can be very difficult these days. You could maybe try asking on moneysavingexpert.com if someone there can recommend an NHS dentist in Cardiff who does good work and is good with nervous patients?

Also you may be eligible for the Dental Community Service. I'm not quite sure how the referral system works in Cardiff and Vale - in most areas you need a referral from a GP or dentist to avail of the community dental service.

Wishing you best of luck with your search :clover::clover:!!
