2nd opinion re decay in wisdom tooth

I have decay in wisdom tooth. Dentist says she is going to "try" and fill it but if unsuccessful (as she may not be able to get band round tooth as only just through gum) she will drill through to nerve and kill tooth with some drops. I will then get referred to hospital to get tooth removed. Previously hospital wouldn't remove due to proximity to nerve - is there any other options?

Hi to the forum.

Get a second opinion, if the hospital wouldn't remove it because of where it was placed near the nerve, then ask your dentist to refer you again for them to deal with or see another dentist and see what they say.
