Does anyone know. Can an abscess on the bottom of a root canalled tooth be caused by a very recent small infection in the gumline of its next neighbour tooth that had to have a filling replaced???:hmm: When the side was cleaned and the filling replaced the gum was painful. Then after a couple of weeks, the next tooth along developed an absess which showed as a shadow on the roots of the x ray. Is there a connection here???

you have a problem it is rather easy for a dentist to track back a sinus track (draining pin hole abscess to its origin)

Hi there,
I'm Not quite understanding. The abscess is hard and I gather from what you say, that it can travel from one tooth to another via a sinus track?

No you're talking at cross purposes with each other. To answer your original question, no it can't.

What comfortdentist is talking about is when a gumboil appears to come out from tooth B, but is actually coming from tooth A someplace else in the mouth. :)
