Hey everyone. Im hoping someone can offer me some advice.
I’m 25 years old with what I’m pretty certain is advanced periodontitis.
My lower front 2 teeth have receded as far as they can and have a heavy build up of tartar on the back of them. One tooth is noticeably loose if I wobble it with my finger but doesn’t move when brushing. 2 other teeth at the bottom are slightly mobile when I try to move them with my finger but not as bad as the other. My gums bleed when brushing even though I’ve tried to up my cleaning regime. I haven’t noticed any mobility in any of my other teeth but they’ve definitely receded, just not as much as my bottom tooth.
Yet still, I’m absolutely terrified about going to the dentist. My main fear is having no teeth which I know is stupid as if I don’t go to the dentist they’ll fall out anyway. I’m hoping some of you can answer some (maybe stupid) questions I have as I really need to know what to expect.
If I need all my teeth taken out will they leave me with no teeth? Sounds stupid but that’s my number 1 fear - walking around with no teeth until they can fit some
During a deep clean can that cause my teeth to fall out there and then? I’m scared that when they’re cleaning my gums/removing plaque all of my teeth are just going to fall out into my mouth.
I’m assuming you need a cast thing over your teeth to get dentures fitted - is it likely my tooth will come out in the wax? Mainly the one that’s loose when I move it.
I’m currently in the UK if that makes any difference.
Do you think I’ll end up losing all of my teeth? Is there anyone else with a similar story who wouldn’t mind sharing. Feel sick with worry I literally have a panic attack even thinking about picking up the phone to ring them
