Hi
i had my wisdom tooth out on Friday. Dentist put gauze in for about 15 minutes and there was only a bit of blood when she removed it.
When my dad drove me home I noticed I had quite a lot of what I thought was saliva and when I gently spat it out there was a thin layer of blood mixed with saliva and it stopped not that long afterwards.
I have a bit of pain today but it just feels a bit sore and have not needed any painkillers.
I didn't put any gauze back on at the time because I didn't want to dislodge the clot.
Is this normal? It hasn't bled since....

I'm not a dentist, but it sounds pretty normal to me.

Had top wisdom tooth extracted on Friday so 72 hours have passed. Gum still feels quite sore(like its stinging/burning a bit but not throbbing) Taken ibuprofen which hasn't really made much difference.
Is this normal?
its more painful than first three days but not agony.
Is this normal?

I was pretty sore for about a week, but I'd say the pain peaked around days 3 and 4. It sounds to me everything is going pretty normally for you.

Thanks very much for your reply. It is starting to feel slightly better at the moment " just the odd twinge of pain. I haven't cleaned my teeth near the extraction site yet. I'm just paranoid of dislodging anything? Anybody know when it's safe to clean the tooth next to it?

Started to get more stinging pains and went back to the dentist. She examined me and said there is no bone exposed so no dry socket or infection its just the pain from the healing process.
had tooth out on Friday am at 10am and now tues at 22.30pm so 108 hrs later so would have thought it would have felt better by now.
saying that the reassurance from the dentist has helped. If I had not gone I know I would have worried a lot more.
