Am I seeing a filling needed, when it isn't?

I'm having a molar extracted soon as my dentist believes that is the cause of my pain. The pain is right between the two back molars and I have grey shadow on the back one that I think could be a cavity. This shadow has been here at least 6 months and I have seen my dentist multiple times. I so nervous that I am going to end up needing more treatment and waiting months for it as I'm only being fitted in for the extraction!
Looking at this xray I am sure I can see missing enamel between the two on the back molar? Ignore the wisdom tooth. That's gone now.
Thanks

Don't think that's a cavity, looks more like a "shadow" caused by overlap from the first molar.

Thank you so much. Feel like I’m going from one problem to the next and it’s making me paranoid!
I’m a worrier as I’m sure you can tell! ??
