I have so much dental work to be done, not sure if some procedures have gone right which I'm worried about, and regular life is not good, either. Just wondering if anyone else is feeling like they can't handle it all?

YES! Between college work, dental work, and gallbladder surgery all in my near future, I am almost at wits end. We can get through this though, I have a good feeling about this.

Thank you for your response, CollegeBound. You're right, we can get through this and we will! :)

I am right there with you. I know right now that I need 2 root canals, and those were only found because both teeth were KILLING me. I haven't had an actual cleaning in years to see what other work I need completed. The cost of dental work is extraordinary and I cannot afford it at all. Luckily, right now, one cannot tell that I need dental work from the looks of my teeth when I smile, but I know that they are horrible.

If it makes you feel any better, I am only 27 years old (female), and my hair has already started to become extremely thin - so thin that you can see my scalp. I have to use hair fibers to fill in the balding spots. The fibers are awesome and once they are in, no one can see that I am losing my hair, but I know, and I'm horrified. I cannot go swimming, if it's raining I'm scared my hair will get wet and the fibers will run down my face, if it's windy I'm scared they will blow off, etc. It's a terrible way to live.

Talk about self-esteem issues! This affects my friendships, prohibits me from having a romantic relationship because I'm too scared to let anyone get close to me and actually see what I look like without my hair fibers, and really just makes me feel like crap.

I try to be the happy-go-lucky girl that I've always been, but it's getting harder and harder by the day.

I guess this sounds kind of conceited since they all have to do with my looks, but I'm just not happy at all.

Yes. Very overwhelmed. Was having very dark thoughts while having my RCT on Tuesday. 46 and perimenopausal with teenage children and constantly battling low grade depression which isn't helped by my terrible teeth and very thin hair also ker11. I have female pattern hair loss and need to go on spironolactone for the rest of my life. So much fun !!!!

Ker11 if you're worried about your hair see a dermatologist. I work for one and there are two main reasons for hair loss, low ferritin (iron stores) and FPHL which I have. Both can be treated. Good luck. ?

Thanks, Katy! I've been to doctors who've recommended me to specialists who've recommended me to other specialists. I've had countless blood tests, and one specialist even cut a piece of my scalp to test the skin. No one is able to figure out the issue.

I do take iron pills and have not seen any improvement. I'm considering a wig at this point.

Best of luck to you! Whenever something happened to me that I thought was the end of the world, my dad would always say, "This is only a pimple. It may seen terrible right now, but you won't even remember it soon enough." Hopefully that helps you!

Thanks ker11. Zinc and vitamin d deficiency also cause hair loss but you've probably had those checked with your blood tests too ?

Yes! I think we all get that sometimes, for what it's worth. Having one of those days today myself I think.

Not much to offer except solidarity and this hug -> :XXLhug:

One thing at a time, and things will look more manageable over time.

Trying to learn to talk without teeth is annoying. Lisp, lisp, lisp. Have you considered some way of taking a bit of time to regroup-a walk, massage or meditation? Taking some time off (even when you feel like you have no time at all) can sometimes help things fall back into place.
