hi guys ive just been 2 the dentist here in northren ireland and got a shock!!i live in the repblic and treatment here would of cost me 5000 euros +but in northren ireland just 1000 euros!!! anyway im here 2 ask about my treatment i need 2 crowns but i need 2 get rip of my abcess the dentist says its gone 2 far and i must get an operation by cutting the root what is this treamnet called and what does it involve??so for 1000 euros bout $1300 im getting 9 fillings,4 teeth removed,2 crowns and tnhis operation pretty good but im terrified

Sorry, it's impossible to be accurate from your description. It sounds like you need to have a root extracted???

I FOUND OUT WHAT ITS CALLED ITS Apicoectomy...is this a really scary procedure i will be awake for this

Hi and I thought that you may have been talking about an apicoectomy, but I was not sure. I have had to have that procedure done on two different teeth. I sounds alot scarier than it actually is. I had local only both times. The worst part of the procedure is that it takes more time than a filling or root canal, but I had no discomfort during the procedure at all. Actually the second time I had it done the dentist tested the area and I felt it, so he numbed me up some more, than I felt nothing.

I will let our expert dentists explain the procedure in more detail, but I wanted to give you a patients perspective. Believe me you will do just fine.

Sounds like a bargain! - lots of peeps from the republic choose to go to the North for their treatment. Wee Norn Iron dentists are as poor as church mice...
