Ativan + Nitrous Oxide? Getting filling...terrified!!!!!

So I haven't been awake for a dental procedure in probably 14 years. I have to get a filling in two days and to say I am terrified is an understatement. I've been sick to my stomach for weeks thinking about it. Don't worry I'm calling the office tomorrow to confirm but just wanted to as here. Is it ok for me to take 2mg of Ativan as well as get nitrous oxide during the procedure? Also..how bad does a filling feel to get done? UGH I AM SO SCARED!!! I also have awful TMJ so I don't know how i'm going to keep my jaw open for the whole time. Someone anyone please make me feel better.

I have anxiety so I take Ativan anyway when I'm having attacks so I already have the prescription. I don't think id be able to get myself to go if I don't take it and Id be crying the whole time if I didn't take it that's how terrified I am

I have taken Ativan and used Nitrous to get through appointments and it has helped a lot. I currently take Xanax and Nitrous, because I find it helps take the edge off even more, but the Ativan was beneficial to me as well. Hope this helps and all goes well, Reno!

I love the laughing gas. I had a deep cleaning, 2 rounds of extractions, and the 2 fillings with the gas and it is nice! Did a lot to help me while the valium did nada.

Finally made up my mind on going in for a cleaning in the near future and if it'd be in the budget, i'd be getting gas again! But i'll most likely be flying solo for the cleaning. YEEP!

To be honest, I think it depends a lot on your dentist. First time I went back this last year in ten years I took the gas, been back 4 times and had two fillings with no gas and did not even have any pain killer for the fillings.

My dentist puts me at ease.
