I have been a lurker for quite some time. I wanted to say thank you all for sharing your photos. I have a dental appointment in 2 days to find out about dentures. I am embarrassed and scared to death. My teeth are really bad.

You all have given me some hope, Thanks again for showing your pictures.

Welcome to the forum.

First of all, don't be embarrassed. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. You've made the appointment, that all-important first step to getting things straightened out, and that's what matters most.

If I may, I'd encourage you to post your story on either the journal or support forum. It will help you get over the fear and embarrassment. It's amazing how much it helps to write down your thoughts as you have them, and it's rather fun to go back and read your progress.

Besides, the rest of us can better support you on one of the other forums rather than in the photo thread, so come on over and join us.

This is just the start of my treatment, and I need quite a lot doing, but after being utterly terrified of dentists for over 10 years, I finally found the courage (and a brilliant private dentist) to get my first filling done. I think it looks fantastic and I can't wait to post before and after pics of my whole mouth!

Without you guys this would not have been a journey I would have wanted to make on my own..you guys ARE a big part of my journey and still are as I am just day 6 into healing and more to come. I have my first soft reline Sept 30.

CHELLFAIRY...I am doing great, I am fixing to post at my journal about my visit today with my oral surgeon.
I have come a long way to say for sure
I love my after pic I was somewhat scared to show the before cause of phobia towards dentists.
I am ashamed to say I have not read anything from you..I'll have to look you up and see whats been going on with you
I am off to my journal..run over and read it.

For those who haven't read about me and my underbite:

I was suffering with infected upper gums for months and months, teeth were being extracted because of it... so, I decided to go ahead and have all my uppers out and replaced with a denture. Making sure that I made it very clear that I wanted a regular top-teeth-in-front-of-bottom-teeth arrangement! I've had the underbite all my life and was keen to 'cure' it.

Anyway, here's my teeth before, during and after my treatment:
