For those who haven't read about me and my underbite:

I was suffering with infected upper gums for months and months, teeth were being extracted because of it... so, I decided to go ahead and have all my uppers out and replaced with a denture. Making sure that I made it very clear that I wanted a regular top-teeth-in-front-of-bottom-teeth arrangement! I've had the underbite all my life and was keen to 'cure' it. ;D

Anyway, here's my teeth before, during and after my treatment:

you look so wonderful!!! congrats!!!!![smiley=jumping.gif]

Re: My before and after pictures

celle, Your teeth look AWESOME!!! BEAUTIFUL. :yay:
as for your before pic. , my teeth are much worse. I hope somewhere down the road I will go get my smile:-[
i hope so too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you look so wonderful!!! congrats!!!!![smiley=jumping.gif]

Thank you very much, cantwait2smile! ;D

Yours look superb too! I bet you're chuffed. I know I am!!! Can't stop grinning my big toothy grin. Which ISN'T an underbite! ;D

BTW - If you notice a little spot of something next to the left canine, it's not part of the denture! :o I took this pic just after eating some noodles... It's a wee speck of noodle! ;D Heh heh. The thing with dentures is you can't feel if there's any food on the front of your teeth! Well, I can't anyway! ;D A VERY minor 'problem'.

OK, SB, I'm totally jealous now. You had noodles in your teeth that SOON after getting your denture? ::) I was feeling pretty spiffy to find yogurt in mine. :giggle:

You'll be able to feel more with your tongue as it gets used to the new terrain. It takes a little while, but I'm sure you'll get there light years ahead of what's "normal."

Seriously, I'm amazed and SO happy you're doing so well. And what great looking teeth! I think it might be family portrait time?? [smiley=cheers.gif]

Well, they were very soft noodles! Just a case of slurping them down. ;D

Mmmm yoghurt. :D Must stock up on some tomorrow!

I am pretty familiar with the denture now (well, it has been a whole week since I had it put in! ;D)

I've still got some slightly sore spots (surprise surprise!) and will try and see my dentist next week to see if he can smooth down the areas of the denture that are causing the soreness. It's not agony of course, just niggling. I can live with it though! :respect:

One thing that's happened is (this'll probably sound familiar) I've got a nice little fungus going on on my tongue! I put it down to rinsing with salt. I've got anti-fungal stuff that usually works pretty well, so it should clear up in a day or so. Fingers crossed. :)

Family portrait sounds good. My wonderful, amazing, beautiful and oh-so-supportive wife has a lovely mouthful of nice big healthy American teeth (her being American and all...) which impresses the dentists she sees here in Britain. We can give nice big toothy grins together! The boys (both teens) will probably just smile shyly!

Thanks again for the kind words Cielo. I truly appreciate it. :D

Hi all.

Here's my before and afters. Not quite finished yet though!

Before...discoloured uneven crowns and non vital teeth. Bridges, wobbly teeth and nine amalgam fillings.

After...three implants, a number of onlays and inlays, and no amalgam.
And these are only the temporaries!! I get the full porcelain 'forever teeth' in one month.
Apologies for the odd stilted smile. I tried to show as much teeth as possible, so I look a bit like someone who is a couple of cans short of a six pack. I don't usually smile like a lunatic.

This from the most terrified person on the face of the planet. Thank GOD in his Heaven for Midazolam.

I just gotta share, I am so happy with my new smile. This is after 15 years of not visiting a dentist due to paralyzing fear!
Here I am before (no one ever saw me smile, I kept my mouth CLOSED)
