Thanks for the kind words.
Upper - 4 front teeth are mine, as you can see they are healthy white and nice, it was how I was able to hide it for so long, I had the majority of my issues with my molars, everything on each side of those four upper teeth are fake.
I have only 4 teeth on the bottom that are mine. Both Canine's on the bottom are mine, the rest is the partial. Can't wait for the Perm partials to be made. My temps contain very, very small teeth, I can't understand why the teeth are so small, they did take a good impression of the to "real" teeth.
My dentist assures me that they will be picture perfect. Will post the after partials hopefully in the next few months.
Thanks all - Good Luck !!

JP, they look terrific. I couldn't tell which were real and which were partial! :D

Maybe we could trade, my temp crowns and bridge were huge... I made him file it down. Twice.

I don't know if i uploaded these photos correctly.
These photos are 3 day post extraction.
Upper Partial / Lower Partial
These are just the Temps- Will post update photos when I get the perm partials.

As RP and Cielo say, impossible to tell the real teeth from the dentures! Nice smile! Excellent job done there. ;D;D;D

Nope! I still can't see the difference! I bet you're chuffed to bits! ;D;D;D

Thanks everyone!! Everyone's photos look fantastic. I do hope that it brings some hope to others, the simple fact that most of us are "smiling" in the photos should indicate how happy we are... it's been years since I smiled.

Me neither, they look great!!

celle54, I cried when I saw your before and after pictures. My journey at the dentist begins tomorrow, and my teeth look much like your 'before'..maybe worse. This really gives me hope that it's not too late for me to have a beautiful smile one day.

TerrifiedWoman...it can only get better and afterwards comes that new smile..i enjoy smiling now..sometimes a bit self conscience but I am told they dont look fake and make me look so much better..
Biggg hugs and keep us posted about your journey..I look forward to hearing more..

Only a little chip, but huge improvement!

Despite suffering for years from dental fear, I have managed to keep my teeth in pretty good condition, and I have always been proud of my front teeth.

Imagine my horror when, for no reason, a bit of enamel flaked off my front tooth leaving a small patch of brown dentine showing.

I really thought that any treatment would result in a 'patch up job' which would always show, but my brilliant dentist made my front tooth look as good as new, with just a little composite bonding.

He did say it would need re-doing in about 4 years, but it's been ok for 1 year now, and fingers crossed will stay that way for a lot longer. I am totally confident that when it needs re-dong he will be able to perform the same miracle!

Just wanted to let you know that teeth can sometimes be repaired to look as good as new (and with nil trauma too!)

For those of you that haven't read my journal, I've got more before and after pictures. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge.

I had a total of 18 teeth in my mouth - 3 of those broken at the gumline. 9 upper teeth, and 9 lower teeth.

My top front teeth BEFORE - 6 front teeth were capped, lost one capped canine at the gum line about 2 years ago, lost the front capped tooth January 2010 - which prompted the start of my journey into denturedom.
Front Teeth Before.jpg

This is after 11 extractions, my 9 upper teeth, and my last 2 molars on the bottom left, and the placement of my immediate full upper denture. February 18th, 2010

I thought I would have two more extractions of bottom front teeth before I could get my bottom permanent partial denture, but I only needed 1 extracted. With the 2 lower molars extracted earlier, I now have 6 teeth left in my mouth, all lower front teeth. April 1st, 2010

This is my bottom partial, which includes all molars and my front bottom tooth. June 3rd, 2010

And this is my new smile!!
Bottom Partial 6.jpg

My journey started with my first appointment January 17th, 2010, because of the front tooth breaking at the gumline-and was completed June 3rd, with getting the bottom partial - everything else was done in between these dates, for a total of about 5 and a half months worth of work, to get my smile in tip top shape!

If you are interested in reading my complete story, it is in the Journal section and is titled "Dental Destiny (or Mysteries of My Mouth).
Good luck to all embarking on their own dental journal, I wish you all well!!

Now that I have my beautiful new smile I guess it's time to add my photos to the 'before' and 'after' section. :) I am so terribly embarrassed by the 'before' photo. How could I have allowed my teeth to get in such a terrible state? I guess fear does bad things to people. [smiley=ashamed.gif] Sorry it's so disgusting..but at least maybe there's somebody out there who can relate to having such horrible teeth and feels as hopeless as I once did.

As for the 'after' pictures..I am very, very proud to share those!! I love my new smile..it was worth all the fear and money. Wish I had done this long ago. My friends are going to get sick of seeing me smile all the time! ;D
Please forgive the bruising on my chin. It's from when I had my extractions done last week. It looks terrible..but doesn't even hurt!

And a HUGE thank-you to the fine folks on this forum. Without all of your support I'm not sure I could have found the courage to go through with this. Hard to believe my journey just started May 14 and in less than 2 months I have the smile of my dreams.
