In a coupe of weeks, I have to go in and have a palatial tori removed, eight top teeth extracted, and they will be doing an alveolplasty.
I lost my other top teeth in a freak accident involving my face and a horse's hoof. It was decades ago. I had extensive bone loss and damage to the left side of my face. One tooth was actually knocked into my sinus.
They're doing in under deep sedation. I don't know the difference between that and a general.
I'm so scared. I am having such horrible nightmares that I hate going to sleep.
My stomach hurts all the time and I cry for hours because I can't stop thinking about it.
I've had multiple surgeries to fix things over the years. In one to repair damage done to my sinuses, I lost so much blood that I was hospitalized and had to have a transfusion.
I'm scared of everything about it. Having the surgery, the pain of recovery, having full dentures after living with a partial all these years.
I know it may be unlikely that someone has had all this, but damn. Talk me through it.
