Hi there! It's been a while since you've posted, but I have had a bone graft and a flipper tooth and would love to share my experience.
Flipper teeth can be uncomfortable at first, and especially if they aren't a proper fit. Modern dental technology has advanced a good amount, so it is more and more likely that dentures and flippers fit better the first time around than ever. It can take a while to adjust to one, but with consistent wear, it will become more natural.
My flipper is my first molar on the bottom left side. They did a great job matching the tooth color and the gum color. It does sit outside my smile line, but even when I look at it after putting it in, it isn't as noticeable as I thought! I sometimes use the tiniest touch of denture glue to help hold it in place. I still am mindful of it, and try not to be rough on it, but I can eat almost everything I was able to before the tooth was lost.
Initially, I did have a bone graft. Unfortunately, it did not take well in my case, so I am not a good candidate for getting an implant. The healing process for the graft wasn't bad at all. You do have to be mindful of the area as the skin grows over the grafted space, and bone shards can come to the surface as it fuses, but if you maintain good dental hygeine, healing can and should be a breeze. If I was a good candidate for an implant, I would try for a bone graft again in a heartbeat.
I hope this information helps, and feel free to let me know if you have any more questions!
