After 38 years of no dental visits, I finally went and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I feared. However, I do have to have 2 teeth surgically extracted that had broken off, and the dentist recommended implants to help retain the jawbone in the area. He said this would require bone grafts to complete. What all does this entail? Where do they get the bone from? How long is recovery? I have the consultation scheduled but it's at another clinic that I've not been to. I'm starting to panic again. For the record, I'm not in any pain now. I do want the spaces fixed where the teeth broke. Are implants the best way to go? My dentist said there wasn't enough left of those two teeth for him to do anything with. I don't have any other cavities.
