I have a small painful bump on the inside of my upper jaw behind tooth #14. My endodontist took a CBCT scan this week and said it looks like part of the bone separating and trying to work itself out. He said this usually happens in the lower jaw and he’s never seen it in the upper jaw before. I am on antibiotics which has slightly reduced it but it’s still sore. He mentioned it could resolve itself or need debrided. How worried should I be? Is this normal and does it normally just go away on its own? What causes this?
