I have severe periodontal disease and needed dentures so that I could hopefully start eating properly again. I have to be totally sedated for ALL dental work and so they did my top first and then my lower almost 3 months later. It's 2 months post op and I already have an appointment scheduled to smooth the jaw bone, but yesterday I noticed 10 or so white bony protrusions coming out of the front of my lower gums, in between the gum and lip. It's extremely painful. I need to mention that I had to undergo 27 rounds of radiation last fall to treat a tumor on my brainstem. I am worried that the radiation compromised the stability of my bones, particularly my jaw bone. Is this something that can wait or be re evaluated before surgery next week?
