Braces with a implant

I already have a implant on my upper 2nd molar.Can I get brcaces with it present.?
Will it affect my bite after it’s done would it need to be replaced.?

Hi Patsyp,

It could still be possible yes but it may mean a slightly different approach is needed compared to a natural tooth. It would probably depend on the amount of tooth movement required and the number and condition of the other back teeth.

Your best bet would be to get an opinion from an orthodontist. They can discuss options, timings, pros and cons in a lot more detail than I could! The first visit would simply be for an assessment to find out more info so you wouldn’t be committing to anything.
