Good afternoon everyone.

My situation is like this: I have 4 cracked teeth. Besides, I have an inflammation of my gums.

I’d like one of my cracked teeth to be taken out. It was previously root-canalled.

But what if my Dentist would want to try saving it again.

How to refuse politely?

I don’t feel strong in social interactions, especially those with dentists…

I am terrified of dentists. My last dentist just retired and this dentist just took on the business. He is aware of my over the top phobias. I sat down in the chair and he told me to open my mouth. I stopped him immediately and asked what he was going to. Crowns!!!I said “wait a minute…what are my options. We discussed it and I chose “composites”.

Wow, @Janga this is exactly what I'm so afraid about. And you were so communicative. I envy you!
Dentists have tendencies to be so hasty sometimes...
And I'm afraid that I'll just "freeze up"... I hate this reaction but... :(

The last time my Dentist didn't even ask me if I want to have that root canal done. She just informed me that would have to meet for that twice more - she did it during her work. Admittedly, it was a visible tooth - #5, upper, on the right side of my mouth. But now it's cracked anyway. :( All root canal pain in vain!
To be honest, I don't believe in root canals anymore. And I believe in dentistry less and less...

I tried to be brave to this time but... 😭

My Dentist seemed to be good and caring... But I just don't know...

I don't know what a new oral surgeon will be like... And I don't know the periodontologist either...
