Hello. I need some advice. I recently had an x-ray taken of a lower molar that required a root canal, according to my general dentist. However, I've been experiencing less pain lately when i chew on that tooth. I've attached the x-ray for reference. Is there any chance a regular filling could suffice? Or is it more than likely i need a root canal as he suggests? He says he can do it.
Additionally, as of late, I've been feeling sharp pain in the upper molar opposite the problem tooth. My dentist looked at it visually and took an x ray and said everything looks fine, but the pain persists. Any idea why?
Should I seek a second opinion on either or both issues? Any advice is appreciated.

Also, does anyone know if you can take these same day before a root canal appt: Tylenol (incase i get a headache), sumatriptan/imitex (incase i have a migraine), and chamomile tea with lavender (to help calm down just incase)?
