Can i wear a custom nightguard over temp filling?

After weeks of pain I've just had my first pulpectomy on an infected tooth. I have my long appointment in a months time. Tooth is sensitive but doesn't hurt.

I forgot to ask my dentist if i can wear my custom night guard over the temp filling in a rear molar. I have a bad habit of clenching and grinding at night. The night guard is a tight fit over the teeth.
