I had a lot of dental work in my youth - big fillings eventually replaced by crowns. No root canals. My teeth haven't needed anything but cleaning in 26 years, except I ground a hole in one crown (the oldest, 40 years) and the dentist filled it. Is there any chance they'll just stay stable if I don't change my diet? I know a crown may have to be replaced here and there, but aside from that? Thankyou.

Yes, providing you keep on top of your cleaning. The big risk now is gum disease, not decay.

Gum disease because of the crowns or just because of my age? My gums must be in decent shape; my dentist doesn't mention them. He just says my hygiene is good. Thank you so much for answering!
