Can you go without sedation for boney impacted wisdom teeth removals?

Pretty much what the title says ^

Can you go without sedation for wisdom teeth that are impacted under the bone? I think I've heard of people doing it before, but I just wanted to make sure. I think my dentist awhile back says she could remove them without sedation, but that was awhile ago so its hard to remember.
