Canker Sore and Surgery - HELP!

I had some teeth removed and 2 days later I noticed I had a sharp bone sticking out. The dentist told me I had a canker sore in the area and needed to wait until the sore went away before proceeding to do more surgery to remove/shave the bone. Yet, I am in alot of pain and only am taking a gel and antibiotics. Do I need to wait for the canker sore to heal before surgery or can they do it now? I'm looking for a second opinion as they are giving me a run-around.

Depends how big the sore is, if it's a big one, you'd be better off to wait. Can't say more without seeing for myself.
