Had a scaling done yesterday. I was told normally that it is usually done one 1/2 of the mouth one appt and then the other half later.

Well - because of how bad my bottom jaw is as far as gaps and stuff, the dentist did all of the upper jaw at once.

The gums aren't sore at all (in fact I attempted to eat a cashew without any major event) but what I'm facing is feeling like my upper cheeks are bruised, primarily at the inject sites.

More of an annoyance then anything but have taken my fair share of ibuprofen over the last 24 hours.

Want to know, how long I should expect this to last?

I would say give it about a couple of days or so, and see if it subsides over that time until you've lost that bruising feeling.
