Hi. I’ve been dealing with a toothache for a few days. My teeth are in terrible shape, & I haven’t seen a dentist in over 10 years( I am so embarrassed about the shape of my teeth and I continue to put it off)
Anyway, I was worried I might have an infection so I started taking amoxicillin. I read that the ADA recommended 500mg TID. I started it yesterday, so far I’ve had 6 doses. The pain has been pretty bad but it started to go away today. Now I’m noticing numbness on my cheek where the pain was. It’s very strange and I am freaking out. I know I have to go to the dentist asap but in the meantime am I okay to wait until next week? Thanks in advance

You're fine to wait till next week, but don't put it off any longer.

Thank you for replying. I’ve just emailed a dentist in hopes to get an appt asap. I am so scared I’m going to die from this. I can’t believe I’ve let my teeth get so bad.

I really don't understand where this fear has come from :-) Scare stories in crappy "news" sites?

No, you're not going to die from it.
