I have just had the crown of my bottom wisdom tooth removed with the root left in situ and now exposed.

I have been cleaning the area around it with warm salty water via syringe after every meal as instructed but am wondering if this is sufficient to clean the root and some brushing with a small tuft brush would be beneficial.

I am naturally predisposed to worry about things like this as I have created dental problems for myself in the past by not giving them due care and attention and would hate for this to be the case again.

My instinct tells me I shouldn't go anywhere near it with even with a small tuft brush as this may inhibit the growth of the gum over it and even push food particles in around it but I am not sure.

Hi Alex, I see this post is a bit older, but I was wondering how are you doing? Hope the extraction sites are all well closed by now?
