hi a already have an nhs dentist and have been having small amounts of treatment over the past 2 years but again my phobia has got the better of me , i feel that my dentist is less than sympathetic to my phobia , i need 2 extractions and various other work.I have heard mentioned community dental services and that they may have people who specialise in phobics?How can i access these services and are they available in my area (north birmingham and Tamworth) , i am due at my dentist tomorrow but cannot face it but dont want to be removed from the surgey for cancelling again i gave cancelled numerous times , please help
Sorry can only post quickly - might I suggest you go along (i.e. keep the appointment) and then at the appt ask for a referral to the Community Dental Service in your area on the grounds you are phobic...hence why you have kept cancelling. If it does exist in your area - your family doctor can also refer you.
