Ok...long story short i have bad dental OCD anxiety that comes and goes in waves and i figure the more i ask questions, the less i am anxious.

1: I usually eat low carb meals consisting of cold cut meats and cheese, pepperoni and mozeralla cheese (which i hear is actually good for teeth). My "Treat" usually consists of chicken nuggets and grilled cheese burritos on a weekend or daily is usually sugar free jello with whipped cream. I only eat one meal a day (thats all i need), i only drink water, and i brush twice a day, once when i wake up, once 45 minuets after i eat. I floss first, then brush. With that schedual, the best i can figure, it be next to be impossable to get cavaties as the bugs that leach away minerals from your enamel eat when you eat...so its wiser to eat what ever all at once instead of snacking all day correct? So if i am only eating once a day...next to impossable to get any kind of decay right?

2: Craze lines vs what i call "Wear lines". Craze lines i can see on my teeth espically when i shine a light on them, but the tooth itself still feels smooth and my fingernail does not catch on those. My guess is those craze lines are shallow cracks beneath the surface of the tooth, formed by thermal expansion (eating hot then cold food) or just old wear and tear on teeth after a life time of use, and do not extend into the enamel.

"Wear Lines" are flakes of enamel that gradually wore off on the otter most surface of the enamel? Like i got a few spots in my upper left side molar and pre molar where my fingernail gently catches, feels a touch more rough then say a smooth surface curve of a tooth, but its not a craze line because the craze line is more deeper within the enamel...kinda a void if you will?

Either way, both arent genuine "Cracks" where the tooth is separating into the dentine and then the pulp and thus would cause problems?

Im quite sure i dont have those.

Like the wear lines, im sure if i asked a dentist to smooth them out a bit, they would sit smoother with the rest of the enamel correct? (or atleast fade the edges with the rest of the tooth)

Just curious.

Yes.

Not thermal expansion just wear and tear.

Correct again.

Yes. I'd be reluctant to do it though, once the enamel is gone it's not coming back so I'd prefer to leave it in place. Other dentists opinions will vary!

Thanks my friend. Eventually the wear lines smooth out a bit though with normal use?

Yes, that's right.

thanks again my friend.

My pleasure buddy.
