Cracked root canal

Well I have cracked my root canal tooth... I have made an appointment which already gave me tons of anxiety. I am worried because it's all black at the bottom and every time I have issues with a root canal they always say they'll have to extract it... I can't afford to lose this tooth, I've already lost 3/4 molars and it's my main eating tooth now... Really scared.

Really sorry to hear that. I am in a fairly similar position to you where I have lost a few a molars and have a limited amount of teeth that I can eat on. At one of my last checkups the dentist said that the two molars that I have root canaled are on borrowed time due to decay, I'm only 47 so am having to begin the process of getting tooth implants. When you say its cracked do you mean a bit has broken off, I'm assuming the tooth isnt crowned. I had a non crowned root canaled tooth that a big chunk had broken off and the dentist was able to crown it, that was a few years ago.

Thanks for this response. I saw it before the appointment and made me feel better. Even better is the appointment went well. He put a stem in to support the filling, then will get a crown put on it in the near future. Got a little bit of shit for not getting a check up in a really long time, but made an appointment for that too! Now to just not cancel lol.

Glad it went well. Getting it crowned sooner rather than later really makes sense.
