I am petrified about my appointment on Friday for crown prep on premolar, no 5 I think it is. I have no back teeth at all. I have lost them all to a nerve condition. On my leftf side I do not have any premolars whereas I have one upper and one lower on the right side.
It is the right being crowned.
Is it nomal to do this on a tooth without a root canal? The tooth is mostly filling done by a prior dentist. It is a very sensitive tooth and I am super worried about the nerve pain being horrendous even with the crown on.

I am so scared.

Thank you. I wish I could go back in time. I know my nerves were damaged by my old dentist, and this set this whole nerve issue off. I only have 18 teeth left, 9 top and 9 bottom.
I suspect I am heading towards similar on the left side as no 4 is supra erupting but that's being left for now.

I have to make my temp crown last 7 weeks and then a further 2 weeks before I get the proper one!
