Hey everyone! I know I haven’t posted in a while. I have periodontal disease and while I’ve had annual perio maintenance appointments, I haven’t had a DEEP cleaning since 2015. That deep cleaning is today. I have taken 5mg of Valium and I took a nice hot shower. I’m feeling pretty drowsy. I am also wearing comfortable loose-fitting pajama pants and hey dudes shoes. (Hey dudes are the most comfortable shoes by the way!) before the appointment, I will put lavender essential oil on my feet to help me relax further. I am also going to be getting laughing gas and Novocain right before they start. This is the process I’ve been taking for period maintenance appointments and it works fantastic! I sometimes even fall asleep during the cleaning! I hope you are all able to find comfort and solice in the face that you are not alone and there are options to help you get through this! Don’t wait till it gets worse! Comment if anyone has any questions!

Thank you for sharing!

Hope it all goes well for you.
I've been having some work done recently and I take 2.5 mg valium. I could do with more but it's so hard to get them from the GP I only take a small amount. I find slow deep breathing works if I can manage it. And thinking about something else really helps but getting into that zone can be a struggle. But if I manage it really does help.

The lavender is a great tip.
