Hi Everyone.

I think this question is primarily for dentists, but anyone is welcome to answer.

Is it possible to use a dental dam during a crown preparation?

Would it be in the dentist's way during this procedure?

What procedures can the dental dam be used for?

Just curious because the dental dam is one of those things that I'm trying to desensitize myself from. I think it would be helpful to use it as much as possible during treatments so that I can get use to it and lessen my anxiety in relation to it.

It also helps to keep my tongue out of the way with the dental dam on.

Thanks.

JJ

I have done it but it's not routine. It may well be in the way. Useful to assist at times when patient has a large tongue. I sometimes will place it rough it out and remove to finalize.
