Dental fear

I due a check up for my self and my son . My son is fine with the dentist but I hate it I’m so scared of the thought of someone touching my teeth it’s weeks away and im having anxiety daily over it . Am I with in my rights to ask the dentist not to touch my teeth and to just look and then have a conversation about it , I can’t deal with someone being in my face hands and tools in my mouth

Doesn't hurt to ask. There's a very limited amount you can see without at least using a mirror though.
